WASHINGTON DC, KOMPAS.com - U.S. President Barack Obama finally named Person of the Year 2012 magazine Time.
The election of Obama is not separated from his success as president for a second term.

Obama's victory because he was regarded as a symbol of the changing demographics of the U.S. in the midst of high unemployment and other problems.

Time magazine editor Rick Stengel announced these results in the Today show on NBC, Wednesday (19/12/2012).

"He (Obama) re-elected despite the highest unemployment rate during the last 70 years . He is the first Democrat to win two terms by the vote above 50 percent, "said Stengel.

" That's what we've never seen since the days of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, "added Stengel referring to the U.S. president who ruled in the Great Depression and World War II.

Obama, said Stengel, beating Pakistan Malala Yousafzai youth activist who was shot by the Taliban because advocated education for women.

The names of the other finalists, including the Executive Director of Apple Tim Cook, Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi and scientist Fabiola Gianotti.
