Close U.S. Embassy in Central African Republic
BANGUI, KOMPAS.com - United States finally shut down its embassy in the Central African Republic (CAR), Friday (28/12/2012) night. This means that all embassy operations suspended amid fears rebels seized the capital Bangui.
"Ambassador Lawrence Wohlers and his diplomatic team leaves Bangui with a number of U.S. citizens," a statement from the U.S. State Department .
A U.S. official told AFP the Ambassador Wohlers and his team left Bangui on Friday (27/12) at midnight.
