BANGUI, KOMPAS.com - The United Nations on Thursday (12/27/2012), was evacuating its staff from the Central African Republic. While the U.S. government warned its citizens to leave the country when the rebel forces are getting closer to the capital city of Bangui.

"Relocation is a precaution to reduce the number of staff if the security situation continued to deteriorate in Bangui," said the UN speech, Martin Nesirky.

"The rebels seemed to really want to master the capital Bangui," Nesirky added.

Meanwhile, a spokesman for the U.S. State Department said the U.S. embassy in Central African Republic is also preparing the departure of embassy staff families and some embassy officials in Bangui.

French troops have also been deployed to protect the embassy. Previously, Bangui residents rallied in front of the French embassy demanding that helped oust the former colonial rebels who have mastered a number of cities.

With President Francoise Bozize government power is limited in the capital Bangui, the forces that Chad sent last week is the only barrier that rebel forces are now 300 miles from the capital.

"We call on all sons and daughters of Central Africa, to all members of the military who are still loyal to the regime of Francois Bozize to lay down their arms, "the statement Saleka rebel coalition after winning the fourth major city in a month.

" In order to protect the civilians, we no longer see the need to win the battle for truth Bangui General Francois Bozize gone longer in control of the country, "added the rebels.

Saleka Coalition is made up of a number of rebel groups that assess Bangui government does not respect the 2007 and 2011 peace deal that promised financial aid for rebels who surrender weapons.
