Children in American Have Weapons Act overhauled
WASHINGTON, KOMPAS.com - gun violence that afflicts a number of teachers and students in the United States, prompting a number of children in the country sent a letter to President Barack Obama. They requested that the Weapons Act overhauled.
First letter is an 8 year old boy just three days after the massacre that killed six teachers and 20 students at a school in Newtown, Connecticut.
AP news agency reported on Wednesday ( 01/16/2013), 8-year-old Grant from Marryland wrote a letter to Obama. Letter dated December 17 or three days after the massacre asks Obama to limit the circulation of weapons.
"It's a free country but I advocate the need for a deterrent weapon," wrote Grant. "Please do not let people use their machine guns or guns with great power like this," said Grant.
The White House said, a few days after the massacre of action, a number of children from across the U.S. to write their feelings regarding the slaughter action that and send it to the White House.
"I am writing to ask you to stop gun violence," wrote 10-year-old Tajeah of Georgia in his letter to Obama.
"I am very sad to think of the children who lost their lives . Therefore, I am writing to you to stop armed violence, "said Tajeah.
On Wednesday, when Obama announced a proposal for a reduction in force of arms, he was accompanied by Grant, Tajeah and several other children to express their feelings related to armed violence and the need to improve security and safety at school.
There are three letters from children who are concerned with the armed violence that occurred in several schools in the U.S..
