KOMPAS.com - French Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, Saturday (01/12/2013), announced the loss of the French army in an operation that freed a secret service agent who was arrested in Somalia since 2009 . "Last night, the command personnel DGSE face fierce resistance. Fierce fighting raged, the current evidence suggests Denis Allex was killed by his captors, "the defense minister said.

" During an attempt to free their colleagues, a soldier succumbed to injuries wound and another was missing, "added the minister.

A total of 17 militants from groups linked to al-Qaeda, al-Shabaab, were killed in the attack, the minister said .

Ash-Shabaab militants who seized Denis Allex said in a statement he was still alive, and they arrested a wounded French soldier, wrote AFP .

Denis Allex, who was kidnapped in 2009, is alleged to have helped train Somali police and presidential guards along with another agent who had escaped a month later.

In September, the kidnappers threatened to kill four French employees of Areva kidnapped again in 2010, when Paris preparing military intervention with African troops to oust militants from the northern Mali.
