Death toll in India trampled Already 37 people
ALLAHABAD, KOMPAS.com - The family are now busy looking for relatives of those missing and feared dead in Allahabad, Northern India. The pilgrims were present at the world's largest religious festival in Allhabad, Sunday (10/2) night ended after jostle each other miserable, and about 37 people were reported killed so far were trampled in this tragedy.
News AP on Monday (2/11/2013) reported that relatives poured into the main hospital Allhabad to find their relatives among the 37 people were reported killed. About 39 others were reported injured. They were trampled in a stampede at the railway station. Tens of thousands of passengers were to be there waiting for the train.
Situation became chaotic when the station chief says no change on the train and this column makes the passengers scattered and jostling each other.
Estimated that there are around 30 Hindus were in Allahabad to take a dip in the River Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati rivers sacred. This event is part of the Kumba Mela, a religious festival for 55 days. Day of the week is one day to bathe in holy rivers before.
