Gallup Survey: People Happier After Age 50
                            The result of research in 2008 found, people generally become happier and less worried after the age of 50. In fact, it was found, at the age of 85, people happier in life than when they were 18.
Findings are the results of a Gallup survey of more than 340,000 adults in the United States in 2008. At that time, the age of those surveyed between 18 and 85 years.
Arthur Stone at the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science, Stony Brook University in New York led the research. His team found that, at high levels of stress for the aged 22 and 25. Stress levels fell sharply after they reach the age of 50's.
Happiness is highest in young adults and people in their early 70's. But the people who reported the least negative emotions are the ones who is in her 70s and the 80s.
The survey also found that, men and women have the same emotional patterns as they grow old. However, women of all ages reported more sadness, stress, and anxiety than men.
The research team also considered the possibility of such effects have small children, lack of work or single. But they have, things that do not affect the level of happiness and well-being related to age.
So why happiness increases with age? One theory is, when you get older, people are becoming more and more grateful for what they have and are better able to control emotions. They also did not want to linger thinking about bad experiences.
