LONDON, KOMPAS.com - Some universities in Asia began to compete with universities in Western countries, as seen in the world university ranking published magazine Times Higher Education (THE) , published in the UK.
Rating the top ten is still dominated by the leading universities in the United States and Britain.
Harvard University is ranked number one followed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MIT. Meanwhile, two British universities, Cambridge and Oxford was ranked third and fourth.
But Tokyo University in the top ten at number nine and if viewed from the 100, looks a lot more universities in Asia in the last three years.
Japan, for example, include five university in the top 100 while Singapore and Hong Kong each of the three universities, while China and Korea respectively two and Taiwan sent a university.
