Teens arrested Train Robbers
PARIS, KOMPAS.com - French police on Wednesday (27/03/2013), arrested 16 youth group members who control a train on the outskirts of Paris and robbed the passengers belongings. This action raises the increasing complaints of criminal acts in the commuter rail network Paris, France.
News agency AFP on Wednesday reported that the majority of young people under 18 years old is accused of riding trains in Grigny, a suburb of Paris, on 16 March. They then set off the alarm in the train, and then down all the train cars and forced the passengers hand over their wealth in cash, a cell phone, as well as a number of valuable clothing and jackets.
Police said the stolen goods were found as well as a number of identity cards in a raid on a residence in Grigny. Some of the suspects were arrested. Some of them are involved in two similar robberies in early March.
Philippe Rio, Mayor Grigny, warmly welcomed the arrest action. "What they are doing is not only very serious, but it would be foolish," said the mayor of the Communist Party.
